Home Hospital

It is a serious issue that nurses are leaving their jobs and nursing at alarming rates.

In a recent poll of Registered Nurses in Massachusetts “The State of Nursing in Massachusetts,” a randomized survey of RNs conducted March 30 to April 7, 2022, by Boston-based Beacon Research. One of the findings was that 33% of RNs reported planning to leave nursing sooner than originally planned. Among newer nurses with 0 to 5 years of experience, 37% are planning to leave sooner – the highest percentage of any experienced nurses.

Health care cannot function without nurses.

The Great Resignation is a serious issue all over many industries as it is with health care.

Newer nurses leaving nursing is a serious problem. Some of the reasons that they are leaving are compensation, work life balance, emotional exhaustion, are issues that nursing must address.

What can be done to stem this tide of resignations? What options can be offered to the newer nurses? How can health care retain these highly trained professionals?

Nursing Liaisons has an opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to try an innovative nursing position with a Home Hospital Program based in Boston.

The Home Hospital movement is growing throughout the country. The Home Hospital program provides hospital level care at patient’s home. Evidence based research has confirmed that the Home Hospital program has improved patient and staff satisfaction, reduced readmissions, and reduced costs, while providing patients with hospital level care at home.

State of the art monitoring, personal care of one patient at a time, in a supportive positive teaching environment, working with a multidisciplinary team are the essence of the Home Hospital program.

Registered Nurses play a pivotal role in this innovative multi-disciplinary program. The opportunity with Home Hospital is a per-diem role, allowing the RN to learn new skills, gain new experience while rediscovering why they went into nursing.
